Ingredients:
- 1 Cup flour
- 1 Cup water
- 1 Tablespoon oil
- 2 Teaspoons Cream of Tartar
- 1/2 Cup salt
- Food coloring
Method:
- Use non stick spray into a medium pan.
- Measure the dry ingredients and blend with a wooden spoon.
- Repeat the procedure with the liquid ingredients.
- Mix the dry and liquid ingredients together in the sauce pan.
- Stir aggressively until the lumps break up.
- Cook over medium heat for 1,5 – 2 minutes while continually stirring.
- If the play-dough is quite sticky, cook it a while longer.
Important: Let the play-dough cool down before playing with it.
Bright ideas:
- Add a tablespoon of alum to the mixture. It will make the dough less tempting to eat and slows down the growth of bacteria. Alum is non-toxic and used in pickling but can cause severe stomach ache when eaten in large quantities.
- Store the dough in the fridge when Miss Muffet is not playing with it. It helps keeping mould and bacteria at bay.
- Add essential oils for the lovely smell as well as the soothing properties – lavender to calm or eucalyptus to clear blocked noses.
- Experiment with different colours and blend them together – the result will be a colour explosion.
